It’s softball season! You guessed it, that means it’s time to post our latest softball job! This particular team supplied the art, which required a two-color front print and two-color back print. We separated the colors, burned our screens and got to work:

It’s been crazy here the last few weeks! We’ve expanded production and upgraded some equipment in order to conduct business more efficiently. As part of our expansion, we have increased our workforce as well – we now have two full-time and two part-time employees – screen printers, sign / vinyl gurus and graphics designers – who work together to produce amazing results. We’re quickly out-growing our current location, and will be moving to a bigger place within (hopefully) the next month or so.
Here is a picture of the new printing press that we recently set up – it allows us to print up to 6 colors per design, and with ease. I’m not going to lie, I gave it a hug. You would too. Actually, stop by and hug it yourself, it’s an experience to behold:
Our new M&R Chameleon Manual Press
The past month feels like a blur, but we’ve been so productive that the end result has made all of the late nights and early mornings worth it. We’re just finishing up a large shirt order for a new clothing line, totalling 55 separate designs and over 2000 prints, and may be working with another designer to produce a new fashion line for next season. It’s fun to be a small independent print shop – even though we have the production capability of a high volume printer, we can keep our costs low enough to accept jobs that are more experimental in nature than the typical high volume printer would be able to do. That sort of freedom of creativity is part of why this business is so much fun.
Fiorello Motorsports Shirts at PINKS All Out at MIR
We just got back from the filming of PINKS All Out for SPEED channel at Maryland International Raceway, and man am I tired. We went to support our good friends Al and Melissa who run the race team we sponsor, Fiorello Motorsports (Melissa is the driver), and had an awesome time despite rain delays and tornado warnings. We debuted the t-shirts in the picture above that we made for the team, which they loved, and once again verified that our vehicle decals stay in place at 120+ mph.
I’ve said it before, but we’re really thrilled to sponsor such a great team and great people, and thank them for their support of us as well. More pictures of the event to come!
Bamboo has got to be one of the coolest apparel fabrics on the market these days. It’s eco-friendly, comes in great earthy colors, and really soft feeling. We had the opportunity to work with it for the first time recently, as an order came in for a batch of Bamboo t-shirts. I figured it would be a good time to try something new, so we took the job.
We received the shirts and I have to say it’s the softest thing I’ve ever unpacked from a shipping box, and the softest material we’ve printed on. Turns out the fabric also holds the ink really well, resulting in a nice smooth print. I’m glad we took on the job, it came out great and it was alot of fun. We’d love to do more now that we have the process and parameters down, so for all you t-shirt aficionados out there who can’t find a printer that works with Bamboo fabrics, we now offer it as a service. Give us a ring!
Here are a few pictures from the job:

We recently did a job for a soccer team called K-Town in New Jersey. They requested gold-colored garments with their logo on the front and team numbers on the back. In addition, they offered to place our logo above the number on each shirt, making this order a three-step print.
We decided to use Hanes 100% Cotton Tees, as we’ve found that these wash very well and aren’t too hot out on the field during the summer. Gold is still considered a light-colored garment and does not warrant the use of specific opaque ink, so we went with standard plastisol ink for the front and achieved great results.
For the rear we went with Athletic heat applied vinyl for durability and visibility. The shirts came out great and we’re happy to help sponsor the team.

We are very excited to announce our sponsorship of Ls1Melissa and Fiorello Motorsports this season! After long negotiations with the Fiorello Business Relations Committee, we have signed on to provide not only our boyish good lucks and undeniable charm to her marketing efforts, but will be designing and printing the official Fiorello Motorsports T-shirts for the team. In addition to that, we will be manufacturing and applying all of her great sponsor decals for the race car as well.
We are thrilled to be a small part of the team effort and will be working closely with Melissa and her team to continue to provide custom printed apparel, decals and banners for them throughout the season.
A huge thank you goes out to Fiorello Motorsports for supporting your local small businesses and giving us an opportunity to do something awesome.
I found a pretty cool utility online that lets you turn your photos into an awesome video. Decided to upload a bunch and run it through the system, so here it is – the first semi-official, semi-professional Kushworks Studios promo vid:
