Back to Brooklyn for Great Food and a Vinyl Install

November 30th, 2009

We took a trip down to our old stomping grounds to do a signage installation last week at Baco Cafe, a renowned restaurant/bar in Williamsburg, Brooklyn owned by Motti Berco.  This place throws some crazy parties – the kind where people like Pierfrancesco Favino (From Angels and Demons) and supermodel Diandra Forrest tend to hang out.  Not only that, but they have the tastiest breakfast and best atmosphere in Brooklyn for non-famous people like us too, hands down.

We were commissioned to install lettering across the entire facade of the building.  Each upper panel is roughly 6′ wide by 3′ tall, and the lower panels are roughly 6′ tall.   The install went smoothly and Motti couldn’t be happier.  Thus, we couldn’t be happier.  This is a great example of how even one-color lettering and logo can vastly improve the curb appeal of a business. It’s cost effective, visually stunning and draws people in from blocks away

In this case, Motti and his team supplied the art for us to use for the signage, which we adapted to the size and shape of the building.  We also have the ability to create custom art for any application, but regardless of the extent of artwork required, we work closely with our clients to achieve great results every time.

November 10th, 2009

‘Tis the season for festive graphic design!  We recently designed a DVD cover for Video Artists International, a worldwide distributor of CDs and DVDs based in Pleasantville, NY.  Titled “An Old Fashioned Christmas”, this DVD will be sold around the world starting on November 17th.  You can pre-order on Amazon HERE.

VAI came to us with just a concept and a sketch, and asked us to come up with a finished product for the DVD.  We had some fun with text wrap and colorizing during the process, and put together the final design above.  The client was very pleased with the design and we had alot of fun with it!

What can our art department do for you?

We Love Sports #2

August 13th, 2009

It’s softball season!   You guessed it, that means it’s time to post our latest softball job!  This particular team supplied the art, which required a two-color front print and two-color back print.  We separated the colors, burned our screens and got to work:

Bamboo is Awesome

June 15th, 2009

Bamboo has got to be one of the coolest apparel fabrics on the market these days.  It’s eco-friendly, comes in great earthy colors, and really soft feeling.  We had the opportunity to work with it for the first time recently, as an order came in for a batch of Bamboo t-shirts.  I figured it would be a good time to try something new, so we took the job.

We received the shirts and I have to say it’s the softest thing I’ve ever unpacked from a shipping box, and the softest material we’ve printed on.  Turns out the fabric also holds the ink really well, resulting in a nice smooth print.   I’m glad we took on the job, it came out great and it was alot of fun.  We’d love to do more now that we have the process and parameters down, so for all you t-shirt aficionados out there who can’t find a printer that works with Bamboo fabrics, we now offer it as a service.  Give us a ring!

Here are a few pictures from the job:

We Love Sports!

May 28th, 2009

We recently did a job for a soccer team called K-Town in New Jersey. They requested gold-colored garments with their logo on the front and team numbers on the back. In addition, they offered to place our logo above the number on each shirt, making this order a three-step print.

We decided to use Hanes 100% Cotton Tees, as we’ve found that these wash very well and aren’t too hot out on the field during the summer. Gold is still considered a light-colored garment and does not warrant the use of specific opaque ink, so we went with standard plastisol ink for the front and achieved great results.

For the rear we went with Athletic heat applied vinyl for durability and visibility.  The shirts came out great and we’re happy to help sponsor the team.

April 22nd, 2009

Just thought I’d show off some of our recent work and a couple of photos of our press. The first print was a two-color chest print, the rest are 3-color.
